I’m particularly excited about this module in BAF2016.
Connectivity and accessibility are hallmarks of a well-designed city. Kota Kinabalu was granted its city status in 2000 and in its 16 years, there have been upgrades and improvement in pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, green areas and parks, and disabled-friendly facilities. But there is still much betterment to be desired.
Enter BAF2016 Module: Walkability Workshop. Facilitated by architects and engineers from civil department JKR, both members of the public and planning professionals come together to discover ideas and priorities of a carefully selected 1KM radius of KK’s earliest suburban development, Luyang. These ideas and presentations will be used to engage with authorities for implementation in not just KK, but on the greater urbanscape of Sabah.
